NVMe or SATA: Choose Around Your Existing Drive

An SSD from a computer upgrade can become a separate external storage device. This NVMe SATA SSD enclosure gives you a choice of either supported M.2 protocol, so the enclosure can be selected around the drive you intend to use.

Check the SSD's protocol, key and length together. The YSTC581S accepts compatible M-Key and B+M Key drives in four M.2 form factors, covering both shorter modules and the 2280 format.

USB-C Transfers for Your Working Files

Connect the enclosure to a compatible computer through its USB-C interface to access files on the installed SSD. The 10Gbps USB interface is useful when choosing an external-storage connection for project folders, photo libraries and regular backups.

NVMe and SATA drive support gives you flexibility in drive selection; the transfer performance you experience will also depend on that choice of SSD.

Choose Capacity for a Growing File Library

Select a compatible SSD with the capacity your files require, up to the supported 8TB limit. You can build an external drive around your own storage needs rather than choosing an enclosure with a fixed built-in capacity.

The YSTC581S is supplied as an enclosure only. An SSD is required separately; the 8TB specification describes the maximum supported SSD capacity.

A Compact Enclosure for Your Computer Kit

The 103 x 38 x 12 mm body weighs 60 g and is easy to carry with a laptop and its accessories. A 30 cm cable keeps the connection compact when the enclosure sits beside your computer.

The gray housing combines aluminum alloy and ABS for a consistent finish alongside your computer accessories.

Compatibility and Performance Notes

10Gbps is the USB interface rating, not a guaranteed file-copy speed. Actual performance depends on the SSD, host port, cable and workload. Use a compatible PCIe NVMe or SATA M.2 SSD with the supported key and size.
