The YSTC8713M has two HDMI outputs and a VGA output, but the operating system determines how connected screens can be used. Windows supports MST for extended displays through the hub. On macOS, SST is supported, and external screens connected through this hub show the same image.
For a Windows installation, check the laptop's supported display configuration before deciding how many screens to connect. For a Mac installation, plan around the shared image on the hub-connected external displays.
The HDMI outputs are specified at up to 4K at 30Hz. Connecting VGA changes that configuration: HDMI output drops to 1920 × 1080 at 60Hz. VGA itself supports 1920 × 1080.
This condition matters when a desk or meeting room uses a VGA display as well as HDMI. The presence of a 4K HDMI socket alone does not describe the resolution available in that combined setup.
Three USB-A 3.0 ports support data rates up to 5Gbps. An additional USB-A 2.0 port and a USB-C 2.0 data port each support up to 480Mbps. The USB-C data connection should be distinguished from the separate PD charging port, rated at up to 100W.
For the remaining desk equipment, the hub provides 1000Mbps Ethernet, SD/TF 2.0 card slots and a 3.5 mm audio jack. Its aluminum housing has a mirror finish. These connections let the display setup, wired network and everyday accessories share the same hub, with the display limitations above made clear before purchase.
